Fabless semiconductor company Dongwoon Anatech announced on the 12th that its OIS controller and TOF sensor IC in the electronic components sector have been finally selected for the government's Global K-Fabless Cultivation Technology Development Project.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy informed Dongwoon Anatech that its core semiconductors, applied for under the 'Strategic Product Creation Global K-Fabless Cultivation Technology Development' project through the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology, had been chosen as supported items.
The government has been actively pushing for support to domestic fabless semiconductor companies with excellent technological capabilities to foster global core semiconductors, and this 'K-Fabless Cultivation Technology Development' project is part of that initiative.
Dongwoon Anatech is collaborating with Semifive, the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, SolidView, and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology to develop high-performance 5-axis control OIS controllers and continuous zoom controllers for next-generation mobile camera applications. They will also focus on TOF sensor IC technology development. Dongwoon Anatech will receive a total of 54.4 billion won in government funding from this year until 2023.
A company official stated, "Dongwoon Anatech's next-generation flagship products have been recognized for their technological prowess and future growth potential by being selected for this government evaluation in the Global K-Fabless Cultivation Project," adding, "This recognition will drive product enhancement and commercialization."
