SolidVue announced on the 14th that its high-resolution single-chip LiDAR sensor IC has won the CES 2025 Innovation Award.
LiDAR is a sensor technology that precisely measures object shapes and distances, outputting them as three-dimensional (3D) images, and is considered a key component in autonomous vehicles and robotics.
The LiDAR sensor IC acts as the core semiconductor of a LiDAR system. SolidVue’s award-winning LiDAR IC, the ‘SL-2.2,’ can output high-resolution 3D images up to 400x128 pixels, significantly surpassing the 200x60 resolution of competitor sensors. This breakthrough enables the SL-2.2 to detect objects up to 200 meters away with an impressive 99.9% accuracy.
With SolidVue’s proprietary ultra-miniaturization technology, the sensor core has been reduced to a compact 0.9cm x 0.9cm and is housed in a small 1.4cm x 1.4cm BGA (Ball Grid Array) package, making it easily integrable into various LiDAR systems. Designed as a single-chip solution, it also offers superior power efficiency.
SolidVue plans to officially launch the SL-2.2 next year, expecting it to become their flagship product following the upcoming release of the ‘SV-110’ (with 200x128 resolution and 128m detection range) at the end of this year.
A company representative expressed, “We expect the SL-2.2 to play a pivotal role in opening a new era for LiDAR technology, demonstrating its potential in various fields, including autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, and smart cities.”
